Pictorial Glossary
OK I need some Junior stuff yet, AND some more Junior pics for the right. So parents and kids, if you have a nice pic, or something to help us explain what Junior racing is all about

V Drive gearbox

The V Dive Gearbox.
As this image clearly shows, the top driven shaft and the bottom output shaft. These are fitted with gears that may drive the propellor faster, slower or at the same speed as the engine.

Propellor

Propellor
These come in 2, 3, 4 or more blade design. They all have one purpose, to push the water back and drive the boat forward. What propellor is best for any particular application is a matter of wide speculation. Once a racer finds a propellor that suits his boat he treats it better than his wife.

Many of our top name drivers have come through our junior program. including Craig Bailey and Troy Marland both names well know to power boat racing followers.

Junior Events Are conducted at

  • Deepwater Motor Boat Club
  • Upper Hawkesbury Power Boat Club
  • Raymond Terrace Aquatic Club

Junior events are conducted at most spectaculars. There is also a junior class in the Bridge to Bridge boat race, this is more a cruise than a race as the juniors all stick together under the eye of an offical boat who follows them up the course.
